How I came to yoga

Hello and welcome! I'm Jessica and I'm so glad you're here.

A few years ago, I found myself living in a new state for the third time in five years with two young children and a husband who had quit his corporate job to start his own business. I had recently quit my own job to become a stay at home mom. All the change and uncertainty left me feeling anxious and often times resentful. 

Then one day, on a whim, I went to a yoga class. I had attended group classes before and liked the way they made me feel. This time was no different!  The physical practice and breath work were amazing and I felt healthier and less anxious with every class. After a few months of classes, I enrolled in a 200 hour teacher training. It was a great experience that taught me (among many other things) that the postures and breathing were only the tip of the iceberg.

I had noticed so many positive changes and I wanted to dig in a bit deeper. I started working with an amazing teacher and mentor one on one. From there, I began teaching small groups and private clients and enrolled in an advanced 500 hour training. This fall I'll start in a Yoga Therapy program.

I work with a variety of clients of all ages and various health concerns. I have a particular interest in the relationship of motherhood and alleviating the stresses that come along with it.
